Welcome
Newfoundland & Labrador’s Offices of the ATIPP Coordinator and Information & Privacy Commissioner, as well as Memorial University’s Information Access and Privacy Protection Office are proud to present the second annual Newfoundland & Labrador Access & Privacy Workshop. We continue to understand the challenges you face in accessing quality learning events, so another is being brought to you. The workshop, the only one of its kind in Newfoundland and Labrador, is a great opportunity to meet, network and share ideas with colleagues from the access and privacy community across the province. With over 15 sessions available, carefully slotted into several themed streams, this event will appeal to any individual, from the public or private sector, who finds him/herself dealing with Access to Information and Privacy issues. This conference continues to evolve, moving with the ebb and flow of the Access and Privacy Culture in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. We hope you can be a part of “Navigating Access & Privacy”.
Newfoundland & Labrador Access and Privacy Workshop 2008:
Like last year, the focus of this year's event is to bring together the diverse community within the public and private sectors responsible for access (ATIPP requests) and Privacy. The program is driven by current priorities and offers a series of fast-paced, participatory, and results-based sessions. Built around 4 key themes, [Access, Privacy, IM and IT], this year’s event is sure to appeal to a wide variety of participants. The steering committee has made sure to identify the various communities across the province, hungry for this type of learning event. Genuine case studies will be used to help participants articulate issues to be resolved, and identify options and solutions to Access and Privacy issues. Delegates will:
- Discuss, identify, and address the many challenges faced by managers of information in public and private sector institutions
- Learn from the wide range of expertise available to the public and private sectors, both internal and external to the ATIPP community
