Welcome to Access & Privacy Workshop 2008

Government must keep current, relevant and accessible in a rapidly changing world. Unprecedented advances in technology, new service delivery models and an increasing awareness of citizens of their rights to access government-held information has changed the access and privacy landscape. To serve Ontario citizens in the best possible way we must develop new perspectives on how to reflect this evolution in our access and privacy programs.

The theme for this year’s Access and Privacy Workshop is “Sharing New Perspectives: Open Government & Privacy Enabled Service Delivery in the 21st Century”. It will examine emerging issues in access and privacy while continuing to provide top quality education for those new to the field. Some of the broader issues we will explore at this year’s event are:

  • Information Management
  • Advances in Technology
  • Privacy by Design
  • Social Networking
  • Seamless Service Delivery

This year’s annual workshop will bring the community together for the purpose of training, information sharing and turning our collective minds to developing strategies for the future.

Attendees will benefit from a broad range of expertise from within Ontario’s broader public sector, as well as from subject experts from the private sector and other jurisdictions.

Everyone from the greater public sector across Ontario and Canada is invited to join us and share ideas, challenges, accomplishments and future opportunities for continued success in the field of Information Management, particularly access to information and protection of privacy within the public sector.

We invite you and the members of your organization to join us for what we believe will be a highly informative, practical and engaging educational experience. The workshop is priced to offer great value, at less than $330.00, including refreshment breaks, lunches and conference materials.
